Water and Sewer

Water and sewer service is provided by the City of Alburnett. All water and sewer usage is monitored by water meters. Residential and commercial customers are charged according to the usage determined by the meter. Meters are read at the end of every month. Bills are sent out on or around the first of every month

To connect service please contact the City Clerk at (319) 842-2692 prior to taking possession of your residence or business. There is a $100 connection charge required on all accounts.

Post Office

The Alburnett Post Office, located at 101 N Main Ave., serves the city of Alburnett and surrounding rural areas. Of special note to in-town residents is the use of PO Boxes for the majority of addresses versus your street address. Please contact the Post Office for additional information at (319) 842-2229.

Area Newspapers
  • Residents of Alburnett have access to each of the 4 libraries that make up the Metro Library Network. The Metro Library Network includes the Cedar Rapids Downtown Public Library, the Ladd Library located on the southwest side of Cedar Rapids, the Marion Public Library, and the Hiawatha Public Library. Both the Marion and Hiawatha libraries are within 15 minutes of Alburnett. Library cards are free and give you access to not only the complete collection of each library, but also access to various online services and databases.   • Martin Complex - Located just south of Alburnett. Walking trail with workout stations, playground, ball diamonds, volleyball court and horseshoe pits.
  • Cedar Valley Nature Trail - 51 mile bike riding and walking trail. Closest trail access with parking is on County Home Road, approximately 1-2 miles east of Interstate 380.
  • Wickiup Hill Natural Area - 10260 Morris Hills Road, Toddville, Iowa. 730 acre natural area and learning center with exhibits and programs.
  • Pinicon Ridge Park - 925 acre park located on the Wapsipinicon River in Central City(about 8 miles NE of Alburnett). 230 campsites and 4 cabins. 12+ miles of hiking trails.
